The move was amazing.
Our friends are amazing.
Imagine helping a friend move. Now imagine adding six kids worth of stuff. Add in a wife who is a homeschool curriculum and children’s book junkie and a craft hoarder. That’s what our friends did for us this weekend.
Seriously, I imagined they’d come, see the enormous task ahead of them, work for an hour or two and then claim food poisoning or something. Nope. Didn’t happen.
I had already adjusted to the idea of going weeks without a playscape or trampoline and at least a day or two without a washer.
Nope. Two friends tore them down and then rebuilt them in one day. By the time I got to the new house Saturday afternoon, it had been done.
Just how do you say thank you to people who have given up a day with their family to give your kids a little familiarity within a chaotic move?
And the washer and drier were hooked up by the time I went to bed. The dining room table was actually set back up by dinner time. (I guess the guys actually were hungry.)
I’ve got some great photos, but you’ll have to give me a few days to get everything hooked back up so I can upload them.
A little teaser . . .
