Rain Lillies

DSC09015

Rain lilies, aka Cooperia pedunculata.

Ahh, so that’s what they are called – those sweet little white flowers dotting our new property in the Texas Hill Country.

They showed up the morning after some much needed rain.

They only lasted for a couple days, but hold on to your hats – we can look forward to them reappearing all the way through August assuming we get more rain.  These beauties started out pure white but started with the pink-tinged petals on day 2.

So lovely.

I sense some serious nature journaling in the kids’ near future – and mine!
